Two police officers from Kaptagat Police Station in Elgeyo Marakwet were arrested in connection with a stolen and slaughtered cow. The incident began when a local reported her cow missing, leading to a search. Rumors surfaced that the missing cow had been slaughtered at the station, prompting a mob to gather outside.
Those involved in the slaughter fled, but senior officers and a Member of the County Assembly arrived to calm the situation after the mob threatened to torch the station. Following initial investigations, the two officers were arrested for questioning. Police are probing their connection to the stolen cow and their motives.
