Two Kenyan institutions, Nova Pioneer Tatu City School and Kakenya Centre for Excellence, have been recognized as top 10 finalists in the prestigious World’s Best School Prizes education awards.
Both schools are competing in the 2024 category for the World’s Best School Prize for Innovation. The finalists were announced by Vikas Pota, Founder and CEO of T4 Education, the global Ed-Tech platform organizing the awards.
These schools will contend for the top honors alongside competitors from the United Kingdom, Brazil, Italy, Australia, and other regions. Kakenya Centre for Excellence is also nominated for the Community Collaboration Award.
Christopher Khaemba, Director of Nova Pioneer, expressed his pride in the nomination, crediting the school’s students, parents, and teachers for their collective efforts to elevate the institution on the global stage. “This nomination is a testament to our commitment to enhancing the quality of education in Kenya,” he stated.
The World’s Best School Prizes are recognized as the most prestigious education awards globally, offering a share of a $50,000 cash prize and a platform for sharing best practices.
Pota described this year’s finalists as extraordinary, noting the fierce competition. “Each shortlisted school has shown remarkable innovation and dedication to delivering quality education,” he said, highlighting the groundbreaking teaching methods and robust support programs that redefine educational excellence.
