A 24-year-old man was fatally stabbed in Kapkembo, Nakuru County, after a fight reportedly triggered by an altercation over a group of women. Aron Kipsang, the victim, was among attendees of a village celebration for newly circumcised men. Police report that Kipsang and his assailant accompanied three girls to a nearby home, where a disagreement escalated. Kipsang allegedly attacked first, prompting the suspect to retaliate with a kitchen knife. Stabbed in the neck, Kipsang staggered 300 meters before collapsing.
The assailant was arrested and is being held as investigations continue. Kipsang’s body was moved to Olenguruone Subcounty Hospital mortuary for an autopsy.
In a separate incident in Tot, Elgeyo Marakwet County, a quarrel between two brothers ended in tragedy. Edward Kiptarus Kisang, 35, was killed after his younger brother attacked him with a panga and arrow during a walk to a shopping center. The dispute began with a land-related argument, and efforts by their mothers to mediate failed.
The suspect fled the scene, and police are pursuing him. Kisang’s body was taken to Tot Subcounty Mortuary as investigations continue. Both incidents have left the respective communities in shock.
