Two people have been killed in separate incidents in Meru County.
According to police, one incident occurred in Imenti South on September 15 around 10 a.m. Officers received a report that John Mwiti, 48, had been seriously assaulted at his home by known individuals. He was taken to Jumupamozzi Medical Center in Kaguru, where he sadly passed away during treatment. Police visited the scene, and the body was transferred to Consolata Hospital mortuary pending an autopsy.
In another incident in Imenti South at Mitunguu, police are investigating the discovery of a dead body by the roadside. On September 16 at 4 p.m., the area assistant chief reported finding a deceased male adult in Kithare village. Officers arrived to find the body of Julius Gituma, approximately 38 years old, lying on his back by the roadside with visible injuries. The scene was processed, and the body was taken to the Kanyakine sub-county hospital mortuary, awaiting an autopsy.
