On September 14, 2024, the body of Amos Walale, 23, was discovered floating in River Athi in Athi River, Machakos County. Police reported that Walale had been missing since the night of September 13, following an assault on a local resident. It is believed that he may have drowned while trying to escape arrest by fleeing towards the river.
The body has been taken to Shalom Mortuary for an autopsy.
In a separate incident in the Korogocho slums, Fredrick Onyango was found dead in his home. Neighbors, noticing he hadn’t woken up despite going to bed without complaints, discovered his lifeless body. Police who arrived at the scene found no visible injuries. Onyango’s body has been transported to City Morgue for a post-mortem examination.
