Detectives in Gucha South have arrested three suspects linked to the robbery and murder of a 22-year-old security guard in Kisii. The suspects were apprehended following a days-long pursuit, during which investigators recovered critical evidence.
The incident occurred on November 26, 2024, at Engako Bar in Nyachenge trading centre. The gang reportedly attacked the guard with crude weapons, leaving him fatally injured, before stealing alcohol worth Sh26,000 from the bar.
Acting on a report from the Tabaka area chief, police launched an investigation that led to the arrest of the first suspect, who was found with blood-stained clothes. Further leads resulted in the capture of two others, including a woman, in Kisii Township. A stolen mobile phone from the crime scene was also recovered.
The suspects, identified by witnesses during an identification parade, are being held at Nyamarambe Police Station under a miscellaneous application as investigations continue.
