Hashim Dagane Muhumed, the prime suspect in the brutal murders of a mother, daughter, and niece, will remain in custody for 21 days as investigations proceed. Makadara Senior Principal Magistrate Mary Njagi ordered his detention at Ruaraka Police Station until December 2, 2024.
Detectives requested his extended detention, citing his flight risk after he initially evaded capture by relocating and altering his appearance. Police linked Hashim to the October 21 abduction of the victims, whose bodies were found with signs of torture and stab wounds the following day. The suspect was captured on CCTV driving a Nissan Note, later found abandoned and seized for forensic analysis.
Hashim, who previously served as a police officer in Ethiopia, was arrested in Eastleigh after attempting to elude authorities by using multiple phone numbers and hiding locally.
