Super Metro Limited has announced a three-day suspension of its services following directives from the Transport Licensing Appeals Board (TLAB). The company stated it has already achieved 90% compliance with requirements from both TLAB and the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), which had earlier suspended its operations on March 20 due to multiple violations including expired inspection and speed limiter certificates.
Despite a court lifting the initial suspension, Super Metro now says it respects the regulatory process and will use this time to finalise remaining compliance measures. NTSA highlighted issues such as unqualified driver credentials and unverified speed limiter data. The company must present 294 vehicles and 42 drivers for inspections and retests. Super Metro has apologised for the inconvenience and reaffirmed its commitment to passenger safety and regulatory adherence.
