Gender, Culture, and Heritage Cabinet nominee Stella Soi Lang’at disclosed during her vetting that her total assets amount to approximately Sh70 million.
Lang’at detailed that her assets include properties, residences, parcels of land, a small livestock herd, avocado orchards, and holdings in shares and securities.
Appearing as the final nominee before the Committee on Appointments, the nominee for Gender CS highlighted her extensive 29-year career in public administration within various ministries of the central government.
She emphasized her roles in the State Department of Public Service, the Labour Department, and her pivotal contribution to establishing the State Department of Gender in 2004.
Throughout her career, Lang’at has received specialized training in mediation, conflict management, and peacebuilding, bolstering her expertise in these fields.
Her experience spans across different regions, including service in Nyanza, Eastern, and South Rift Valley regions, where she focused on institutional development.
Notably, while at the Office of the Attorney General, she was instrumental in setting up a pioneering witness protection agency for Eastern Central Africa, significantly contributing to enhancing judicial processes and combating Gender-Based Violence.
Lang’at’s nomination is set to replace Aisha Jumwa in the previous Cabinet structure.
