Emuhaya MP Omboko Milemba, President William Ruto, Mama Petronila Karugani, and Luanda MP Dick Maungu attended the launch of the Luanda modern market construction in Vihiga County yesterday. Speaking during the event, President Ruto criticized the politics of shareholding as outdated and divisive, emphasizing that all Kenyans have equal rights regardless of ethnic or political affiliations.
“Kenya is a country where all people have equal rights. Those propagating tribalism, hatred, and divisive politics have no place in this nation,” Ruto stated. He reiterated his commitment to forming a broad-based government focused on unity and national development, citing his administration’s efforts to promote inclusivity and deliver key projects in agriculture, health, education, and infrastructure.
Ruto’s remarks followed recent controversial statements by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua about government shareholding, which sparked heated debate. The President distanced himself from divisive narratives, adding that unity is key to achieving sustainable progress. Accompanied by leaders like Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Ruto urged Kenyans to embrace unity and reject all forms of discrimination for the nation’s prosperity.
