A police officer was arrested in Ruaka, Kiambu County, after he was found in possession of an unauthorized Glock pistol and two rounds of ammunition. Authorities acted on a tip-off and lured the officer—who claimed to be attached to Sololo Police Station in Marsabit County—to a petrol station, where he was apprehended while allegedly trying to lease out the weapon. He was unable to give a satisfactory account of how he obtained the firearm and is currently in custody pending further investigation and possible arraignment.
In a separate incident, police in Narok arrested three suspects linked to a series of violent robberies in Narok town and its surrounding areas. The arrests were made following a distress call reporting a robbery in Total village, where a gang stormed a rental building, assaulted tenants, and stole valuables including phones, laptops, and gas cylinders. One tenant, a university student, sustained serious injuries during the raid.
Officers recovered three Maasai swords, multiple mobile phones, two Lenovo laptops, and a gas cylinder from the suspects. A follow-up search at the suspects’ residence led to the discovery of additional stolen property, including Kenya Power meters and other electronics, some of which were identified by their owners. The suspects remain in custody awaiting formal charges.
