A police officer was arrested in Nakuru’s Kaptembwo area after failing to return his AK-47 rifle on February 17. He claimed he was drugged by strangers posing as officers after visiting a bar, leading to the weapon’s disappearance. A search is ongoing.
In a separate incident, two police officers and an accomplice were arrested in Nairobi for attempted robbery with violence along the Githurai-Soweto railway line. The suspects, attached to the GSU, were caught assaulting a man before being apprehended by patrolling officers. Investigations continue.
