Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found at the main Kenya-Somalia border in Mandera. Authorities said they were alerted on Wednesday, November 27, about the discovery of the body near Border Point One primary school farm. The man, who was not from the area, had no visible injuries, leading investigators to believe he may have been killed elsewhere before his body was dumped at the scene.
The body has been transferred to the Mandera Referral Hospital mortuary, where it is awaiting identification and a postmortem examination.
Meanwhile, police are searching for two suspects involved in the murder of a motorcyclist in the Garsiake area of Wajir County. The victim, identified as 36-year-old Ahmed Duba, had been riding his motorcycle along the Moyale-Buna Road on Thursday, November 28, when he experienced a flat tire near Garsiake. He sought help at a nearby homestead but found the owner was absent. While attempting to repair the bike, Duba was attacked by two men who arrived on a motorcycle, stabbed him in the neck, and fled the scene after dragging his body inside the empty house.
Authorities are investigating the motive behind the murder and are actively pursuing known suspects. The body has been taken to the mortuary for an autopsy. The area has seen increased insecurity, and police are conducting operations to recover weapons used in such incidents. Multi-agency teams have been deployed in the larger Marsabit and Wajir Counties as part of ongoing security efforts.
