The selection panel for the recruitment of a new Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has received 1,848 applications for the chairperson and commissioner positions. The application period closed on February 15, with submissions made both physically and via email.
Panel chairperson Nelson Makanda confirmed that the verification process has begun, and a long list of applicants will be published as part of a transparent selection process. The new IEBC team is expected to be in place by April 25, with shortlisted candidates undergoing interviews before names are forwarded to President William Ruto for nomination and parliamentary approval.
