Nyali MP Mohammed Ali has opposed the impeachment process against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, calling it ill-intentioned. This came after Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse presented a motion with 11 charges against Gachagua, including graft, money laundering, and insubordination. Despite 291 MPs supporting the move, Ali clarified he did not sign the motion and disagrees with its motives. The impeachment hearing is set for October 8, with public participation scheduled for October 4 across the country.
