A 42-year-old man in Murang’a County was electrocuted Tuesday morning while pumping water to his farm in Kambirwa village. Police reported that David Mwangi Waithera had connected live wires to a water pump, which led to his accidental death. His wife discovered him unresponsive in the water after he failed to return or answer his phone. Efforts to save him were futile, and he was pronounced dead upon arrival at Murang’a Level Five Hospital. The exposed live wire in the water is believed to have caused the electrocution. The body was moved to the mortuary as investigations continue.
Meanwhile, in Narok County, a 19-year-old suspect, Amos Koech, escaped from Tendwet Police Station. He was in custody for defilement charges under the Sexual Offences Act 2006. Koech fled into the Maasai Mau forest during a bathroom break, defying warning shots fired by police. Officers have launched a manhunt, and senior officials are probing the circumstances of his escape.
