Kibwezi West MP Mutuse Mwengi has announced his intention to initiate an impeachment motion against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. Mutuse revealed this on his social media, stating that he will table the motion under Articles 150 and 145 of the Constitution, and promised evidence that will surprise Kenyans. A first-term MP elected on the Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC) party ticket, Mutuse emphasized that he bears no personal grudge against Gachagua and is simply fulfilling his civic duty. Mutuse, a University of Nairobi law graduate, previously served as Chief of Staff to Alfred Mutua.
