Detectives in Kipipiri, Nyandarua County, are searching for a mother who fled after her son died following an alleged beating over a broken TV. Witnesses reported that the mother punished the boy for damaging a Sh14,000 television set. The boy reportedly complained of pain as he went to bed on October 28 and was found dead the next morning. Police are awaiting autopsy results to confirm the cause of death.
In a separate incident, 23-year-old Stephen Ndugu drowned while attempting to cross a flooded area in Nakuru’s Bondeni. His body, found with facial bruises, was retrieved by police and the Red Cross.
