A group of residents in Mombasa has initiated peaceful anti-government protests in the coastal town. Demonstrators are seen waving placards and Kenyan flags as they march from one location to another, notably without any police presence nearby.
Activist Boniface Mwangi confirmed on Monday that the protests will continue as planned until the government acknowledges its responsibility for the deaths of the protesters. “Let’s not deceive ourselves into thinking we have achieved anything yet, as we lack tangible victories. Why hasn’t the President reached out to the families of those who died to offer an apology? He has yet to do so,” he stated.
