The Universities Academic Staff Union (UASU) rejected a Sh4.5 billion government bailout, deeming it insufficient, and vowed to strike until all dues are cleared. Efforts by the university to resolve the standoff, including suspensions and show-cause letters to striking lecturers, have been unsuccessful.
Learning remains stalled, with medical students stuck for over eight years without completing their courses.
