Three robbery suspects were stoned to death by a mob in Jomvu, Mombasa, after allegedly luring and robbing a woman using an online dating app. The victim, who boarded their hired salon car in Bamburi, was robbed of Sh4,200 while being driven through Nyali to Jomvu.
The vehicle’s owner tracked it to Jitoni, where the gang abandoned it. Locals responded to the victim’s alarm, catching and killing the suspects. Police recovered a smoke jacket, a police barrette, and knives at the scene. Authorities discourage mob justice, warning that some victims of lynching may be falsely accused.
