The body of a seven-year-old boy who went missing was found in a well in the Ngorika area of Nyandarua County.
According to police, the pupil from Ngorika Special School was reported missing on Tuesday, October 9, before his body was discovered five days later.
He was last seen walking home from school, and his family reported him missing after he failed to return. The incident was shared on various social media platforms to aid in the search for him.
It was only on Monday night, five days later, that his body was found floating in a well in the Wiyumiririe area. Investigations are currently underway to determine the cause of death, and police are considering the possibility of murder.
In another case, police are investigating the murder of a 63-year-old man found on a farm owned by a former senior police officer in Sultan Hamud, Makueni County.
The former police chief reported that two of his workers discovered the man’s body while passing near his greenhouse. The victim, Kakungu Muteti Mbusu, was found in a pool of blood, with deep cuts visible on his face, the back of his head, and his right hand. His body has been taken to the Sultan Hamud sub-county mortuary for a postmortem examination.
The workers present at the scene are being questioned as part of the investigation into the murder.
In Marimanti, Tharaka Nithi County, police discovered the body of 47-year-old Joseph Mwangangi in his house. His body was found on the bed, soaked in blood, with a deep cut on his forehead extending to his lips and fingers. It has been moved to the Marimanti Level Four hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.
Additionally, in Gem Wagai sub-county, police are looking into the death of 78-year-old Bartholomew Obita Odera, whose naked body was found in a murram quarry in the Wagwer area. Villagers discovered the body on Monday evening and reported it to the authorities. Police believe he may have been murdered elsewhere and his body dumped in the quarry.
The body has been transported to the Siaya County Referral Hospital mortuary for preservation, and a postmortem will be conducted to ascertain the exact cause of death.
