A recent survey conducted by Tifa reveals that a significant majority of Kenyans oppose the reappointment of sacked Cabinet Secretaries.
While 40% of respondents indicated that only those former CSs who had performed well should be considered for reappointment, the overall sentiment reflects a strong desire for comprehensive governmental change and new leadership.
Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki stands out as the only individual with an approval rating exceeding 50% for reappointment, garnering support from 61% of those surveyed. He is followed by former ICT CS Eliud Owalo, who received an approval rating of 48%, and former Education CS Ezekiel Machogu, who earned just 23%.
The poll, conducted on July 16 and 17, 2024, included a sample size of 1,507 individuals, distributed proportionally across counties based on population size. The survey has a margin of error of ±2.52% and was carried out through telephonic interviews at the household level.
