Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that he is working with the US to implement President Donald Trump’s plan to remove and resettle Gaza’s population. Following talks with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Jerusalem, Netanyahu confirmed a shared strategy for the Palestinian territory.
Trump’s proposal, which suggests a US-led takeover of Gaza and relocation of its two million residents to neighboring countries, has been widely condemned. The UN has warned that forced displacement from occupied territory is illegal and amounts to ethnic cleansing. Palestinian leaders have firmly rejected the plan, stating that Gaza is “not for sale.”
Meanwhile, Israel has received a fresh shipment of American-made heavy bombs, following Trump’s reversal of Joe Biden’s block on their export. As ceasefire negotiations continue, tensions remain high, with both sides reporting violations of the agreement in southern Gaza.
