Nandi Governor Stephen Sang is leading the modernization of Kaimosi Agricultural Training Centre (ATC) as a key legacy project aimed at transforming the agriculture sector. The project, estimated to cost over Sh500 million, will establish the institution as a centre of excellence for agricultural training and innovation.
During an inspection of the ongoing works, Governor Sang emphasized the county’s commitment to equipping farmers and students with practical agricultural skills to boost productivity. He highlighted strategic investments and collaborations as critical in enhancing the facility’s infrastructure, training programs, and partnerships with research institutions and agribusiness stakeholders.
The modernization plan includes:
- Upgrading learning resources
- Equipping demonstration farms with modern agricultural technologies
- Strengthening partnerships with key industry players
- Constructing new training halls and renovating infrastructure
According to Kaimosi ATC Director Levy Kachilei, the institution plays a crucial role in addressing farming challenges and boosting agricultural productivity. By integrating modern farming techniques, the college aims to empower farmers, increase productivity, and contribute to regional economic growth.
Governor Sang reiterated that Kaimosi ATC’s transformation aligns with the county’s broader goal of unlocking Nandi’s agricultural potential, ultimately positioning the institution as a premier hub for agricultural training and innovation in Kenya.
