The government has distributed Sh4.95 billion to over 365,000 coffee farmers across 26 counties through the Cherry Advance Revolving Fund over the past two years. According to government spokesperson Isaac Mwaura, four counties in Central Kenya—Kiambu, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, and Nyeri—received Sh2.309 billion, benefiting 182,827 farmers. Additionally, a Sh2 billion coffee debt waiver will be granted this financial year. The fund has increased coffee production and milling, with over 8,470 metric tonnes processed in 2023-24 compared to 878 tonnes in 2022-23.
