Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has expressed deep sorrow following the passing of Malulu Injendi, the Member of Parliament for Malava Constituency.
In a heartfelt message on X, Gachagua described Injendi as a calm and dedicated leader who had the best interests of his community at heart. He also highlighted the late MP’s strong religious values and commitment to public service.
“The late Malulu Injendi was a calm and collected leader with community interests at heart. His passing has left a big gap in his family and the people of Malava Constituency,” Gachagua wrote, recalling their friendship during the 12th Parliament.
MP Malulu Injendi’s Passing and Political Career
Malulu Injendi passed away on Monday while undergoing treatment at Aga Khan Hospital, Nairobi. He was serving his third term in Parliament, having been elected continuously since 2013. He was also the Vice Chairman of the Departmental Committee on Education and Research.

President William Ruto mourned Injendi as a diligent and selfless leader, saying:
“I am saddened by the death of a friend and colleague, Mheshimiwa Malulu Injendi. He was a towering leader who selflessly served the people of Malava Constituency. A believer in equal opportunities, he was diligent, focused, and devoted to public service.”
