Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua shared a heartfelt moment with residents of Maragua, Murang’a County, on Sunday after attending a church service at PCEA Nairobi, which was briefly marred by a security scare. Goons attempted to storm the church shortly after Gachagua’s arrival, forcing his security team to act swiftly as gunshots rang out. The disturbance was contained, and the service eventually resumed.
Later, Gachagua traveled to Maragua, where he was warmly received by residents. He addressed the community and joined them for a communal meal, which he said reminded him of the value of unity and belonging. “It is in these simple moments that we find the true essence of belonging,” he shared on social media, posting photos of the gathering.
This public appearance follows his March 31 visit to Wangige Market in Kiambu, where he criticized the government. Gachagua is expected to speak more on current political tensions in a televised address on April 7.
