Four drowning incidents have been reported amid ongoing heavy rains across Kenya, while separate murder cases in Migori and Nyamira counties are under investigation.
In Galole, Tana River County, a decomposed body identified as Gilbert Buya was recovered at Emmaus village after being swept downstream. In Msambweni, Kwale County, a 14-year-old boy drowned while fishing in the Indian Ocean, with his body later retrieved near the shore.
In Busia County’s Nambale area, an unidentified man’s decomposed body was found stuck along Suo River. Meanwhile, in Kiawara village, Nyeri County, Joseph Irungu’s body was discovered in Honi River and later retrieved by police and locals. All bodies have been moved to respective mortuaries for autopsies.
Separately, two murders have been reported. In Rongo, Migori County, the body of 22-year-old Rawlings Ooko was discovered with multiple injuries. In Magwagwa, Nyamira County, Ezra Tochi, 27, was killed by unknown attackers, sustaining severe head and hand injuries. Investigations into both cases are ongoing.
