Aden Duale, the nominee for the Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry Cabinet Secretary position, has expressed his readiness to serve in the role, pending approval by the National Assembly.
Appearing before the Committee on Appointments for vetting on Friday, Duale emphasized that his academic credentials, public service experience, and background in both public and private sectors make him a suitable candidate.
“My qualifications, experience as a Member of Parliament, my tenure in the Ministry of Defence, and my involvement in the private sector all attest to my capability for this role,” Duale stated. He also highlighted his clean record, noting that he has consistently adhered to Chapter Six and Article 75 of the Constitution of Kenya.
Duale assured the committee that he has never been indicted by any parliamentary report or faced legal issues with the criminal justice system, EACC, or DCI. “I have maintained a clear record throughout my career and am fully prepared to serve the people of Kenya,” he said.
Duale was the second nominee to undergo vetting on Friday, following Andrew Karanja, the nominee for Agriculture. In the previous Cabinet, Duale served as the Minister of Defence.
On Thursday, the Committee on Appointments vetted the first batch of five nominees.
