Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale expressed his pride in being part of a Cabinet that represents Kenya’s diversity.
Speaking at CS John Mbadi’s homecoming event in Magunga, Homa Bay County, Duale noted that the current Cabinet mirrors the country’s political, religious, and ethnic variety. He commended President William Ruto for fulfilling his promise to reflect this diversity since taking office in September 2022.
“Your Excellency, having worked closely with you for over 20 years, I can attest that from the moment you assumed office, you made it a priority to unite Kenyans,” Duale remarked.
“I am immensely proud to be in a Cabinet that truly reflects the diverse political, social, and ethnic spectrum of Kenya,” he added, emphasizing that this achievement will be a key part of President Ruto’s legacy.
Duale also highlighted that President Ruto’s commitment goes beyond the 2027 agenda.
On July 11, 2024, Ruto dismissed his entire Cabinet in a state address at State House, Nairobi, with the exception of Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and Secretary to the Cabinet Mercy Wanjau. The President then reconstituted the Cabinet, incorporating at least five members from the opposition Orange Democratic Movement, while reappointing ten from his previous Cabinet. Most reappointed members were assigned new positions, except for Prof. Kithure Kindiki, who retained his role in the Interior Ministry, and Alice Wahome, who returned to the Ministry of Lands.
