The proprietors of a Nairobi cosmetic clinic are set to appear in court today to face manslaughter charges following the death of a patient after a botched cosmetic surgery. The case, before Kibera Senior Principal Magistrate Samson Temu, stems from the October 2024 death of a businesswoman due to surgical complications.
The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) pursued charges after investigations, but the suspects, represented by lawyer Danstan Omari, sought to defer plea-taking, citing late service of court documents. The prosecution, however, opposed the delay and requested arrest warrants. The magistrate has ordered the suspects to appear today at 9 a.m. for further proceedings.
