Nick Mudimba, a journalist with CGTN Africa and a former KTN reporter, has passed away. Mudimba collapsed and died at his home in Syokimau, Machakos County, on the evening of Sunday, March 23, 2025, according to his family and friends.
His family revealed that he had been unwell and was diagnosed with high uric acid levels on Saturday. He was prescribed medication, which he took on Sunday after watching the Harambee Stars vs. Gabon football match. Shortly after, he collapsed, experienced convulsions, and passed away. His body was transferred to a Syokimau mortuary, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
Mudimba was widely recognized for his dedication and professionalism in journalism. He previously worked at KTN and Switch TV before joining CGTN Africa as a senior reporter in Nairobi. His passing has left a void in the media fraternity, with colleagues mourning him as a talented and supportive journalist.
His death comes as the media industry was already mourning the loss of another journalist, Fredrick Parsayo of KBC, who was found dead in his Kinoo home on March 20 in a suspected suicide. Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
