Law Society of Kenya President Faith Odhiambo has announced that Free Kenya Movement coordinator Bob Njagi has been located and is safe.
Njagi reportedly arrived at the Tigoni police station after being released by his abductors.
“At around 1 a.m., Bob managed to find his way to Tigoni police station seeking assistance. He is alive and well,” Odhiambo stated.
She also revealed that Njagi had sent her a message confirming his safety.
In the message, Njagi expressed gratitude: “To family, friends, and every Kenyan who has continued to pray for me, I wish to confirm that I am well and with my family. It is now time to quiet the noise, be grateful for life, and reflect on what Kenya means to us.”
Njagi was one of three individuals abducted in Kitengela a month ago.
The other two, Jamil Longton (42) and Aslam Longton (36), were also found safe in Gachie on Friday morning.
“I have been informed that Jamil and his brother Aslam were released at the Gachie border of Kiambu and Nairobi by their captors. Every prayer and intervention made a difference. We thank God they are safe!” Odhiambo said in a statement on X.
The trio went missing on August 19, 2024, after being reportedly abducted by individuals alleged to be police officers.
Witnesses stated that the brothers disappeared just meters from their home, while Njagi was forcibly taken from a bus in Mlolongo by unknown assailants.
The LSK had filed a case demanding the trio’s release, believing they were taken by security forces.
Inspector General Douglas Kanja confirmed that an investigation is underway regarding the abduction claims. “I have just taken office, but according to our officers, we do not have the Kitengela three in custody. An active investigation is ongoing,” he stated at Jogoo House in Nairobi.
DCI boss Mohamed Amin also reiterated that they do not support any form of abduction and confirmed that they currently do not have the three men.
