Attorney General Dorcas Oduor has urged the High Court to dismiss a petition seeking to block Adams Oloo from joining the selection panel for appointing new IEBC commissioners. She argues that the petition, filed by lawyer Apollo Mboya, lacks evidence to prove Oloo is unqualified for the role.
Oloo has denied claims that he was an adviser to President William Ruto at the time of his appointment, stating that he resigned from his advisory position on January 24—three days before his selection. He now seeks to have the petition struck out, calling it baseless and aimed at derailing the IEBC appointment process.
Judge Chacha Mwita has given parties 10 days to file responses before issuing directions on March 5.
