A group of bikers touring Africa to raise funds for educating underprivileged children has completed the third leg of their journey and is preparing for the final stretch. The cycling tour, which began in December 2024 and ends in May 2025, aims to support the LOGOS Endowment Fund, which helps needy children access education.
Led by Nairobi Chapel Pastor Nick Korir, the team rode from Ethiopia and Djibouti to Cape Town, then journeyed across western Africa. Between February 17 and April 1, they traveled through South Africa, Namibia, Angola, Republic of Congo, Cameroon, Nigeria, Benin, Togo, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, and finally Senegal.
Day 28 resumed in Cape Town after a brief rest. A mechanical issue required urgent repairs before continuing to Springbok, where local bikers welcomed them. The following day they crossed into Namibia, where they discovered the nation was in mourning for former president Sam Nujoma.
Over the next few days, they passed through Keetmanshoop, Windhoek, Swakopmund, and Walvis Bay, often riding at dawn to beat the desert heat. At Kenya House in Windhoek, they met Ambassador Michael Sialai, who warmly received them.
They later continued through Tsumeb, crossed into Angola, and spent time in Luanda where Ambassador Joyce M’Maitsi and other diplomats hosted them.
After a rest and bike servicing, the team journeyed through several more countries, reaching Senegal on the 76th day. Three members returned to Nairobi due to personal and professional obligations, arranging to ship their bikes back home. The remaining team members are now preparing for the final phase of the tour.
While in Dakar, they enjoyed a break that included motorcycle events with local bikers, visits to Goree Island, Lac Rose, and Saly.
