President Joe Biden landed in Peru on Thursday, accompanied by his granddaughters, for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit. He is expected to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping, possibly marking one of their final discussions before the U.S. presidential transition.
Greeted by Peru’s Prime Minister Gustavo Adrianzen and U.S. Ambassador Stephanie Syptak-Ramnath, Biden’s agenda includes addressing climate change, global infrastructure, and drug trafficking. His visit also includes trips to the Amazon rainforest and Brazil for the G20 summit, with further talks planned with leaders from South Korea and Japan.
