Despite initial skepticism, parents have widely participated in the ongoing polio vaccination campaign, aimed at children under five in nine high-risk counties across Kenya. The Ministry of Health reported strong vaccine acceptance, noting that the drive will end today. Following concerns from October’s vaccination drive, which included reports of adverse reactions and two child fatalities, a health committee investigated 23 cases, concluding most reactions were minor and unrelated to the vaccine. The ministry assures that the vaccines are safe and essential for preventing the highly infectious and potentially deadly disease.
