Kenyan detectives are investigating Hashim Dagane, a murder suspect accused of killing three family members in Nairobi and Machakos, and possibly operating as a terror recruit. The probe, led by a multi-agency team, is investigating how Hashim, who recently returned from Ethiopia, obtained a fraudulent Kenyan ID and used false identities to extort money online.
Hashim is believed to have manipulated Deka Gorone, his latest victim, whose dismembered body was found in Lang’ata cemetery after her disappearance. Surveillance reveals Hashim impersonated Deka through her phone to mislead her family and delay her search. Hashim’s Kilimani apartment, leased for short stays, held evidence linked to Deka, while another suspect was arrested in Eldoret with a blood-stained panga believed to be a weapon in the crime.
