Jimmy Kibaki, son of former President Mwai Kibaki, has re-entered politics, resuming his role as deputy leader of the New Democrats party after a brief hiatus. This announcement coincided with news that the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) will receive a combined Sh856 million from the Political Parties Fund. UDA is set to receive Sh558.5 million, while ODM will get Sh316 million, as per the Political Parties Act. Jimmy’s return places him in a key political position, continuing his family’s political legacy.
