Agriculture Cabinet Secretary nominee Andrew Karanja has revealed that his net worth totals Sh214,000,000.
In his appearance before the National Assembly Appointments Committee on Friday, Karanja detailed that his wealth includes family residences, apartments, vehicles, land, and bank deposits.
The vetting process is being overseen by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetang’ula. Four additional nominees are scheduled to appear before the panel.
Karanja holds a PhD in Development Economics and Policy from Wageningen University in the Netherlands, as well as a Certificate in Development-Oriented Research in Agriculture and a Master’s in Agricultural Economics from the University of Nairobi.
During the vetting session, Speaker Wetang’ula encouraged the media to focus on more than just the nominees’ financial disclosures.
