Over 200 golfers will gather at Thika Sports Club on Saturday for the latest round of the NCBA Golf Series, starting at 7 am.
Players from Thika and neighboring clubs will compete on the challenging par-72 course for top honors and the chance to represent their club in the Series Grand Finale.
Thika Sports Club captain Moses Gatonye expressed enthusiasm about hosting the event. “We are honored to host the NCBA Golf Series at our club. Our members are excited to participate, and we have meticulously prepared the course to ensure a challenging and enjoyable experience for all,” Gatonye said.
This tournament follows the ninth leg of the series held at Kenya Airforce Golf Club last weekend, which saw 97 golfers compete. Harun Wanyama, playing off a handicap of 4, won the Division One title with 40 points, with Major Elvis Murunga (H6) finishing second with 37 points.
In the Division Two men’s category, Wally Bitok, with a handicap of 17, took first place with 46 points, while Jacob Chacha (H20) secured second with 43 points.
Carol Nthiwa, with a handicap of 23, dominated the Division Two ladies’ category, winning with 33 points and edging out Damaris Kikwal (H21) who came in second with 32 points.
NCBA Group Managing Director John Gachora praised the event’s significance in fostering community and strengthening relationships. “We are thrilled to bring the NCBA Golf Series to Thika Sports Club. These events go beyond just golf; they serve as platforms for building connections and showcasing our commitment to our stakeholders.
